$361 million Mega Millions jackpot won by single ticketholder

After 15 draws, the winning ticket for the $361 million Mega Millions jackpot was sold.

The Texas-sold ticket matched the gold Mega Ball 22 and all five white balls (12, 24, 46, 57, and 66).

According to Mega Millions, the $361 million reward ($157.3 million cash) is also the biggest Mega Millions jackpot ever won in the Lone Star State. (The most recent jackpot in Texas was $227 million, and it was won in September of 2019.)

Six ticket holders for Friday's drawing received second-tier rewards totaling at least $1 million in addition to the jackpot: $1 million tickets were purchased by winners in California, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Washington

and $3 million each by Michigan and New Jersey ticket holders who added the optional $1 Megaplier to their tickets.

A Mega Millions jackpot hadn't been won since August 15 before Friday's drawing. Nevertheless, the Mega Millions jackpot was won for the tenth time in a row with Friday's drawing – something that hasn't happened since 2014.

The following drawing is set on Tuesday, October 10. Twenty million will be the new jackpot.
