Lexi Thompson's incredible performance on Friday at the Shriners Children's Open in Las Vegas has stunned the golf world.
Golf influencer Paige Spiranac shared the significance of Thompson's accomplishments on social media, regardless of what happened during her round on Friday.
Thompson is really killing it with the ball; on Friday, she made her third birdie of the day when she drilled the green at the par-4 15th.
At the par-5 13th, she made the longest drive of the day, blazing a 314-yard tee shot into the center of the fairway. It also resulted with a birdie.
At TPC Summerlin, Thompson is averaging 305.2 yards overall off the tee, which is much more than the 270.7 yards she is currently average on the LPGA Tour this year.
But this week, her putter has proven to be the most useful tool in her arsenal. Her tenth hole of the day on Friday was the par-4 first hole, when Thompson sank a 24-footer for birdie.
Then, Thompson made a second consecutive par-breaker with a 28-footer on the difficult par-4 second hole.
Thompson is third among the 132 players in the tournament with a stroke gain of 2.369 on the greens halfway through the second round. Yes, Thompson is doing really well.
