Simone Biles Gets Emotional During National Anthem

On Friday afternoon, American gymnast Simone Biles created history in the sport of gymnastics.

Biles became the most decorated gymnast in the history of the sport after taking home the gold medal in the all-around competition at the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships.

She won 34 medals at the Olympics and world championships, more than any other person in the position's history.

Friday after her show, Biles was serenaded with the national anthem while standing on the platform. The famous gymnast lost all emotional control.

"You're the ones sobbing, not us. Six-time world all-around champion Simone Biles is honored with the national anthem, according to the NBC Olympics X account.

Biles just made her intentions to compete in the 2024 Summer Olympics public last month.

"Rather than just going, go, go, and then making time after," she stated, "I think I have to take care of myself a little bit more, listen to my body, and make sure that I'm making time for the important things in my life."

"This time around, it’s being intentional, going to therapy, making sure everything is aligned, so that I can do the best in the gym and be a good wife, good daughter, good friend and all of the good things."

After making history previously, Biles now wants to surpass her record.
