Las Vegas Aces guard Kelsey Plum has always admired minority owner Tom Brady. He was among numerous celebs at Game 1 of the 2023 WNBA Finals on Sunday.
Brady's presence allowed Plum to hit him during the Aces' 99-82 triumph over the Liberty.
She said, “It’s about f–king time you showed up.” Brady said, “You already know.” The former NFL standout watched the game courtside with majority owner Mark Davis.
“I looked at him and said, ‘It’s about effing time you showed up,'” Plum recounted in her post-game news conference.
What I appreciate about him is that he said, ‘You already know.’ Excited about his commitment in our team and what it means for us and the league. Looking at us. Though I joke, it's been great having him and knowing he cares.”
The postseason career-high for Plum was 26 points and 5 rebounds. Plum barked at her favorite athlete last season because she was too excited to meet him. Brady autographed Plum's jersey, so it made an impression.
Plum scored 26 points, five rebounds, an assist, and a steal in 36 minutes to give the Aces a 1-0 Finals lead.
Plum, A'ja Wilson, Jackie Young, Chelsea Gray, and Kiah Stokes head the Aces' quest for a second straight title.
