The Box-Office Race Will Go to Taylor Swift

In contrast to most films, "Eras" won't play Monday-Wednesday, Thursday previews, or Friday shows before 6. Tickets are pricier than usual ($19.89 minimum for adults, $13.13 for youngsters and seniors).

It attracts spectators on opening weekend, especially those who prefer concert-like throngs. Worldwide presales exceeded $100 million for AMC.

According to industry estimates, opening weekend domestically might reach $100 million or $125 million. Around $200 million domestically and $275 million globally.

It might break "Joker"'s $96 million unadjusted October opening record (approximately $105 million for 2023).

The 2011 single-performer concert film "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" made $75 million domestic and $99 million global (adjusted). "Eras" should smash all records. The largest music picture is 1970's "Woodstock," which made $350 million adjusted.

"Eras" might be the sixth 2023 film to reach $100 million. Only "Barbie," "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," and "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" grossed over $120 million. Even with rising costs, that's exorbitant.

Seven 2023 films grossed $200 million domestically; five grossed $300 million. This could make eight $200 million-plus pictures.
